oral communication is effective

When is your oral communication is effective?
Ans.
·         Candidness
·         Clarity
·         Completeness
·         Conciseness (kiss)
·         Concertina
·         Correctness
·         Courtesy
These act as principles for choosing the form (style) and content (matter) of oral communication. Oral communication should provide a platform for fair and candid exchange of ideas.
Oral communication, which is face-to-face communication with others, has its own benefits. When people communicate orally, they are able to interact; they can ask questions and even test their understanding of the message. In addition, people can also relate and comprehend the non-verbal, which serves far more than words. By observing facial expressions, eye contact, tone of voice, gestures, postures, etc., one can understand the message better.
The only shortcoming of oral communication is that more often than not it is spontaneous and if one communicates incorrectly, the message will not get understood. It is primarily due to this reason, one need to develop effective oral communication skills as a message; if not understood at appropriate time, can lead to disaster

Types of grapevine Chains

What are different  types of grapevine  Chains

Specialists in this field have identified four types of grapevine chains
           A. Single Strand Chain :
           B. Gossip Chain
           C. Probability Chain
           D. Cluster Chain
A.Single Strand Chain : In this type of chain, ‘A’ tells something to ‘B’ who tells it to ‘C’ and so on. This type of chain is the least accurate in passing on the information or message.
B.Gossip Chain : In it, a person seeks out and tells everyone the information he has obtained. This chain is often used when information or a message regarding a ‘not-on-job’ nature is being conveyed.
C.Probability Chain : In it, individuals are indifferent to the persons to whom they are passing some information. This chain is found when the information is somewhat interesting but not really significant.
D .Cluster Chain : In this type of chain, ‘A’ tells something to a few selected individuals and then some of these individuals inform a few other selected individuals.
It has been found out that the cluster chain is the dominant grapevine pattern in an organisation. Generally only a few individuals, called ‘Liaison individuals’ pass on the information they have obtained and then they are likely to share it with the people they trust. Most informal communication flows through this chain

understand by intra communication

What  do you understand by intra communication

Intra communication refers to process of self-communication. It is well known fact that “you cant not communicate”. In fact an individual always talks to self both in  happy or sad mood  or even in  frustrated mood. many time these manthan or self expression leads to self confession or self acceptance.  And we know that self acceptance always gives solution. An individual come to know his strength and opportunity. Some time an individual does these without being aware of happening. Can you recall a situation when you had lost the chance and imagining that you have won the battle and people are congratulating for your success? look inside and think how many time you have gone to the world where every thing is possible? you are becoming every thing what you want. think about situation when you imagined that you knew every question you were asked in an interview. This  world is known “Utopia”. These all self talks  are nothing but intra communication.

COMMUNICATION

What are two most significant personal powers which can make both personal and professional life  prosper or perish?

Two most significant personal powers which can change the destiny of any individual in a moment  are commitment and communication.
1 Commitment.
Commitment is direct result of ethic and moral followed by any individual.
Ethic is sense of good or bad or right or wrong based on personal principle. It is based on which personal power is built. Moral is also good or bad ,right or wrong but in contrast to personal standard these are based on the social acceptance and custom of the society .Both ethic and moral put together shape personal power of an individual.

2.Communication:
Communication is an exchange of idea, exchange of feeling ,exchange of sign, exchange of symbol, exchange of philosophy .Communication is  transactional and dynamic. The importance of communication can be understood in the following terms:

 i)  Quality of life is quality of communication.
ii) Communication is life blood of the organization.
iii) Communication is single most essential skill of the organization.

Communication is most essential requirement of human being.  It is equally important in every species too. Without effective communication no human being and no organization can exist and function effectively towards achieving its vision, mission, objectives, and goal .It is a  means by which members of an organization work together. It helps to bind them together, enabling them to act and react  to  influence each other both personally and professionally. No matter personal or  professional you can not be effective in your life unless you are able to communicate in right direction. It is, therefore, right to call communication is the “lifeblood” of an organization. As per  Sir John Harvey-Jones “communication is the single most essential skill.” About 90% of a manager’s time is spent in communicating, one way or the other. The better participation, empowerment and involvement revolve around quality of communication. In India our ancient communication system was so powerful that people were able to understand language of birds and animal too but today there is a phenomenon of generation gap between own kids and siblings too. These all problem exist in the society because we are not equipped with technique of effective communication. This is the reason why the institute of chartered accountants of India has introduced this subject in our syllabus. The ICAI wants us to understand technique of good communication system and develop in the life. Institute wants their professionals to be an effective professional. The role of chartered accountants has been significantly changed; today they take decision which has impact on strategic decision. Stake of stake holders are affected on decision taken by chartered accountants. Therefore it is  a compulsion and not a choice to understand technique of effective communication both personally and professionally. With technique of effective communication professional can understand the impact of communication on the stake holders.
